As Sarah mentioned in her great post last week, volunteering can mean many different things to many different people. But today on Election Day, we can all volunteer in one powerful way: go to your local polling station and vote!
At the Center, our number one goal (well, one of many) is to promote civic engagement. Every other day of the year, I would say "Want to do something good in your community? Volunteer at the food bank, tutor a child, lend your skills to a nonprofit..." But today, if you want to do something good in your community, just go out and vote. And then celebrate the Giants World Series Victory! That's it. You've done your civic duty.
