Time to Celebrate Our Earth!

Finally the days getting longer as we welcome Spring and as the ground begins to get warmer we gradually see new plant growth "spring forth," which is where the season gets its name from. And what really signifies Spring is that the flowering plants begin to bloom! For most of us I think Spring’s beauty inspires awareness and appreciation for the Earth and it’s environment. The season is also traditionally welcomed with the early act of cleaning a house from top to bottom. So this year in spirit of giving thanks to the Earth and to the seasonal tradition of cleaning, why not spring clean Marin County!

Since Earth is where life began, we should pick up after ourselves and learn how we can be earth-friendly. It is no secret the earth's environment is in need of help. Right now we face a huge global crisis: population growth, global warming, water shortages, poverty, etc. These issues are daunting, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed. But lets not let these issues overpower us. If we work together and start by tackling one thing at a time, gradually we will make change. So this Spring season lets begin to catalyze change starting right here in Marin. To help you make a significant contribution to better the world we live in the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership has designed four distinct days of service to give you the opportunity to get out and beautify Marin. By volunteering with us during these service days you will be able to help make a noticeable difference here in Marin!

Let this be the season to celebrate our amazing home, planet Earth. And let this Spring be a reminder to live consciously and live to actively improve and beautify the communities we live in. And hopefully these days will inspire you to continue to be a Earth conscious citizen through every season of the year and encourage others to take action and create global change!

Come enjoy the beauties of Spring and Spring Clean Marin!
